Royal Wedding Scents Revealed!

Kate's Wedding Fragrance: An instant hit!

While I was cooing over the dress, the hair and the make-up on last Friday’s extravaganza, some clever people were finding out other, smaller details about the Royal Wedding.

Namely, which scent the bride was wearing! Ahh yes, this didn’t cross my mind because well the McQueen was far too overwhelming to even consider other thoughtful touches that had gone into the Bride’s overall look.

Anyway, said fragrance is called White Gardenia Petals by little known British brand, Illuminum. Billed as a mixture of coconut, Jasmine and amber wood- the perfume, as you may have expected, is now sold out completely.

In fact it even has a two week waiting list now that the Duchess of Cambridge has given her Royal seal of approval to it.

Not only is she a fan of this fragrance, but also of Jo Malone. Kate apparently filled the Abbey with their signature candles and provided luxury soaps and hand washes for the guests to use in the VIP bathrooms.

How posh. I think I may light my Jo Malone candle in appreciation… well it would be rude not to wouldn’t it?!

The Balcony Appearance

Well my god that was special. An estimated crowd of 1.4 million surged forward to watch the newlyweds take their place on the balcony for the first time.

They were visably moved by the crowds and never stopped smiling and waving, giving the crowds exactly what they wanted- not one, but two kisses!

I nearly missed the first one tweeting, but the second one seemed much more natural- with William taking the lead and leaning in for the perfect Royal kiss.

Kate still looks stunning and It's apparently been confirmed that she shunned a make-up artist in favour of doing her own make-up for the big day.

She did opt for a beautician however, but I think all in all it was the right choice. Under the harsh Abbey lights Kate did appear to have some bags under her eyes and had overdone the blusher, but in the natural light it was just perfection.

One of the most amazing experiences ever, I've really enjoyed blogging and tweeting my way through the day. I hope you have enjoyed it as well, and feel free to leave me a comment or two.

The Royal Wedding: Verdict

Well, the build up was immense and I think the hype reached fever pitch once Kate Middleton arrived at Westminster Abbey, but what did you think of the ceremony?

I loved it, got a bit bored with some of the readings in the middle, but enjoyed the little side glances William and Kate kept giving each other.

As for the little slip up with the wedding ring not going on, well I doubt anyone noticed it really... apart from around 2 billion on Twitter.

That just made them all the more adorable for me and apparently Wills told Kate she looked beautiful when she reached him at the alter. Aww!

Harry also is reported to have said to Wills 'Wait till you see her!' which just shows how close they all are.

Now we're approaching the end of the cermony, they are offically man and wife and I am exhausted! I'm off to pop the champers now and will be back reporting in a bit!

The countdown begins...

Prince's William and Harry will be arriving in about 5 minutes time, most of the guests are seated in the Abbey and I have nearly finished baking my brownies.

In other Wedding related news- did you see Tara Palmer Tomkinson's hat? It is not flattering in the slightest way and it looks as though it would take your eye out if you got too close!

Some girlies from TOWIE are apparently guests at the wedding according to ASOS, although they could be pulling my leg and just making the comparision, due to the gals they were talking about having perma tans. Who knows?!

Lastly Kate's hairdressers have been busy making mood boards for the big day, and Pauls Reed reckons her hair will end up being unfussy and down in loose curls.

Ahh excited!

Victoria & David Beckham at the Royal Wedding!

Forget the Queen and Kate Middleton, I was personally all about seeing the Beckhams arrive today, and arrive they just have.

Victoria looking elegant in what looks like a navy blue shift dress, rumoured to be from her own line, complete with Philip Treacy hat and custom made Louboutins.

I wasn't sure when I first saw it, as it looked pretty plain, but the more she appeared pouting on my screens, the more I took to it. Simple and sophisticated- very clever VB.

David just looked like David Beckham always looks- drop dead gorgeous. He killed that Ralph Lauren suit, and with his slicked back hair and strong features, he is arguably the best looking fella in the Abbey at the moment.

Prince William and Prince Harry are yet to arrive however!

The Royal Wedding: My Coverage

Good morning early risers! I'm currently juggling making finger sandwiches and scones with blogging, tweeting and following the BBC coverage.

So far I have noted...

- Fearne Cotton looking lovely in a polka dot dress and fitted beige jacket, complete with uber blonde hair and wavy locks.

- Women with very large hats entering the Abbey... I can't wait to see Victoria Beckham!

- Huw Edwards speaking awkwardly about what Kate will be wearing- not really his thing!

- I may well cry... I'm feeling bizarrely emotional today seeing the scale of everything! The Mall is totally packed with people. IT WILL BE EPIC

- This is already old news, but if you don't know- Once married William will become Duke of Cambridge and Kate Duchess of Cambridge. I'm gutted for Kate, Princess Catherine had a nice ring to it!

Till later! Serena xx

Royal Wedding Fever!

Prince William and Kate Middleton: Awww!

I don’t know about you, but I officially have Royal Wedding fever. I’m giddy, smiley and generally happy for a couple I have never met and probably in all likelihood will never meet in my life and yet, I’m still positively brimming with anticipation for tomorrow!

I’m not the only one either. People all over the world are feeling exactly the same as me right now. Impromptu street parties, afternoon tea being served in an almost regal way and a general sense of occasion has got us all in a frenzy.

No-one does a Royal Wedding quite like us, and what’s so amazing is how everyone in the country has got on board with this and vowed to celebrate, despite the tax bill!

There is literally not a soul I know that isn’t doing something for the big day. A Bank Holiday proclaimed in their honour has definitely got people feeling good and despite everything else going on, for one day, everyone will be totally fixated on two people getting married.

Me personally, I’ll be fixated on the dress- as will many other Fashion Eds around the world. It will be a mad rush to see who tweets the designer’s name first, which quite frankly I find hilarious.

I will of course be tweeting and blogging my way through the ceremony with a cup of tea in one hand and a scone in another. And then I’ll be giving you a right Royal round-up on Dress Me Daisy next week, so all in all, I have a pretty busy time ahead of me.

Till tomorrow my Royal followers…

Kate Middleton a fan of Warehouse!

One of my fave Kate Middleton purchases!

Literally anything that's associated with the Royal Wedding will generate HUGE publicity, so you can imagine Warehouse's PR department's delight when the soon-to-be Royal popped into the store to do some shopping.

As you do, you know if you're a normal girl, not a Princess in the making! OK, so she had her bodyguard with her, but still Kate's definitely down with the kids.

Within hours of her choosing four modest items, Warehouse went into overdrive marketing what Kate bought online and releasing a press statement; you can't say they're slow on the uptake can you?!

Still, we've still to cover the most important thing- just what did our style queen buy? Well, I'll tell you- floral and crochet were the order of the day for Kate.

Simple, stylish and understated elegance for a price, which most women wanting to replicate the gorgeous Kate can match.

I don't know about you but the Whistles blouse and Issa engagement dress were very much out of my budget, but this high-street fave has come up trumps by nabbing a style patron like Kate.

Hell, who am I kidding they could cash in on this for years! All I'm waiting for now is to see Kate in the sold out tropical Primark dress, or rocking some scalloped shorts courtesy of Topshop and I'm sold!

Check out everything Kate bought at Warehouse here

Prince William to go Military chic on big day!

While the whole world is still on tenterhooks as to what Kate Middleton will be wearing for her wedding, Prince William it seems, is all sorted!

He will apparently be kitted out in the finest military attire, made by Saville Row's Gieves & Hawkes if reports are to be believed.

Although Wills could wear a suit for his big day, it's expected he will follow tradition in his military uniform- with his RAF uniform the most likely to be selected.

Ooh I do love a man in uniform and I expect Kate will too! At least this takes the fashion limelight off her for a bit, before the media circus starts again.

I cannot wait for their big day- purely for the dress; it will either be a total triumph or fall short of such high expectations.

Considering this is Kate we're talking about and she can pull off a see-through dress, I expect she'll be just fine...

Tuesday Fashion Scoop

Could Lady G be Mugler's secret fashion weapon?

After blue Monday comes fashion scoop Tuesday, so here's my hits for the day...

Lady Gaga @ Thierry Mugler: Rumours are rife that Gaga will play an exclusive track from her new album at Nicola Formichetti's debut as the creative director of Thierry Mugler next month. Promos don't come much bigger than this... it will be THE show to watch me thinks.

Vogue v.s. Harper's Bazaar: Hehe, I love nothing more than a playground catfight and they don't get much bigger than these two power fashion houses. Apparently the buzz on the street is both mags are expected to 'war' over who will be the first to land Kate Middleton on their cover. Humm... my money's on Wintour nailing this one.

Kate Middleton to wear Bruce Oldfield?: Has the gorgeous Kate finally chosen the designer who will make her wedding dress? If reports are to be believed, the designer, who often dressed Princess Di is the hot fave after member's of Kate's family were spotted trying on hats for more than an hour in his shop. OMG.

That's all folks!

Monday Fashion Alert

Katie debuts a new look on X Factor: Copyright ITV

Katie is still in X Factor: It seems image really is everything and let's be honest, she had nothing left to lose by changing her style yet again. A short boyish crop and an array of baby doll dresses certainly says: "I'm sweet, innocent and defenceless- please don't vote me out." Call me cynical, but it definitely worked this weekend.

Gillian fainting on I'm a Celeb: I don't know about you but I couldn't stop laughing, which under the circumstances means I'm either a very mean person OR Gillian has irked me and millions of others beyond belief. I'll go with the latter, if only because she clearly has a thing for medic Bob and wears indecently small shorts. Ew.

Get Kate's ring on QVC Less than a week since the Royal engagement was announced and QVC have already made a replica of Kate's engagement ring. Fast work, I'm sure you'll agree! "The Princess Simulated Sapphire Ring" by Kenneth Jay Lane is available for a mere $39.54. Shame Wills didn't think ahead, he could've saved himself a fortune!

Olivia Palermo to get own TV show: Yes, she with the incredible glossy hair has managed to land herself a new gig after The City was axed. “I’m currently working on a TV project, my own show," she announced via Elle.com Ooo secretive much?!

Forget the ring, what will Kate wear on the big day?!

So, unless you live on Mars you'll be well aware that Prince William and Kate Middleton have announced they are to marry early next year.

Hurrah! I personally feel like I've been waiting for this news forever, and so do most of the world's media, if the headlines are anything to go by.

What I'm most interested in though is who Kate will choose to wear on the big day, and will she cover up or flash a bit of flesh?

This could well be the biggest fashion event of the spring next year, so she'll have to get it right.

Rumours of British designers have already been thrown into the ring- a mere 12 hours after the news was announced and people are already taking bets; it's THAT big a deal.

Fashion experts have predicted a couture dress, complete with a high neck, that should both be demure, yet stylish. Eek! The girl is in her twenties, give her a strapless fairytale gown if she wants!

Check out Brides.com for some amazing sketches by wedding designers, showing their vision for Kate. Not a high neck in sight. Phew.
