The X Factor: Live Show Fashion Verdict

Aiden Grimshaw Copyright ITV

I literally do not know what to say about X Factor last night, other than OMG- there goes my social life until Christmas!

Seriously, it was that good. Dermot giving it back to the judges, the judges all feuding amongst themselves and despite it over running by about half an hour in my opinion, it kept me glued from start to finish.

But most importantly, who came out on top in style stakes? Well, ultimately both Dannii and Cheryl did me proud with their choices for the night, but did you notice how tangoed Chezza was?!

Absolutely stunning though she is, that was far too much tan to take in for HD TV. Tone it down next week pet, and you'll be fine. Loved the one shoulder lace number though, very on-trend, but Dannii wins this week for me overall.

Gorgeous loosely tussled up-do, red vamp lips and a white lace dress teamed with fierce heels. Stunning.

As for the contestants- What the hell were the stylists thinking for half of them?! Katie looked ridiculous in a space age coat, weird headdress and pink lycra leggings, although I liked her performance more than I thought I would!

Aiden, as lovely as he is, was put in a high collared white frilly shirt, that even a medieval vampire would have trouble pulling off.

Funnily enough, Simon Cowell made the comparison of Twilight, to which Aiden responded by looking like he'd see a ghost. Great performance though, despite his nerves and despite looking like he was in pain for the whole two minutes.

I loved Cher, although she came across as a tad cocky for my liking after her performance, Bel Amie were cute in headscarves and mismatching clobber, while One Direction just looked too young to command such a big stage.

Cher Lloyd: Just Be Good To Me

Storm was terrifying in those silver lycra pants, but all credit to him- an amazing performance on the night. John failed to make an impression, although he very much looked the part, as did FYD, who are unfortunately better dancers and fashionistas than they are singers.

Trayc's outfit did nothing for her curves, while Diva Fever managed to camp up proceedings in neon lycra and more make-up than is strictly necessary!

It was a Louis choice of song and choreography, oddly put together by Cowell. We all know if Louis had indeed put that in front of the other three, Simon would of torn him to pieces.

Speaking of Louis' odd choices, Wagner in his velvet suit was horrendously misrepresented with his song on the night, but Louis did at least get it right with Mary. My god, what a performance from someone I had really dismissed as mediocre.

Mary Byrne: This is a Man's World

Rebecca also had a stunner on the night, finally opening her eyes and letting the audience in. Full marks for the dress choice too, she's already got her own look and letting her be herself will go a long way with winning the audience over.

My favourite bloke who was knocked back twice before making it to the live shows, the gorgeous Paige was amazing on the night, although what was with the bad 80s fashion, I do not know. Give the man back his feathery hat!

Lastly, Nicolo was really let down by his song choice and odd decision to let him wear sunglasses all through the performance- I think he may be on his way home tonight.

What did you think of last night's performances? Who should go and who should stay?

The X Factor: Live finalists revealed!

Cher and Rebecca are through to the live shows! Copyright ITV

Cher through, Gamu out and crazy Katie in the final three for Cheryl?! Say what?!

Ok, so a website may have already leaked the finalists, but I was still pretty shocked with the results of tonight's show.

Enough rambling though, lets get down to business and see who has made it through to the live finals next week...

Girls: Mentored By Cheryl Cole
Katie Waissel: The girl messed up big style and I totally agree with Cheryl- people may find her annoying; I know I do. Right from the ridiculous eyelashes to the crazy umbrella, she's not done it for me from the start. A brave choice to put through and personally I think Cheryl should have gone with the lovely Gamu.

Cher Lloyd: It's a shame with Cher, because I loved her in the first audition and then bootcamp fell a bit flat for me. I think her nerves got the better of her in front of Cheryl- she didn't even finish the song and burst into tears for heaven's sake! A risk, but I think she'll be a hit.

Rebecca Ferguson: A true star. She can sing and has the wardrobe of an Hollywood screen siren. A sure fire hit with the public, I think she will go all the way.

Groups: Mentored by Simon Cowell
Bel Amie: I loved these girls. Considering they had only been put together in a week, everything was perfect. Great vocals, likeable personalities and a great sense of fashion make them my early faves in this competition.

One Direction: 'Far too young' would have been a better name for these boys, and personally I think we've seen it all before. Yawn.

FYD: Quirky, cool and I'm a big fan of these boys. I think Simon will make them a stand out on the live shows, but they have some tough competition.

Over 28s: Mentored by Louis Walsh
Mary Byrne: From the promo shots I saw tonight, Mary cleans up well! A sleek haircut and clever wardrobe have made this sweetheart into a star. Sing your heart out Mary and you may well go far!

Storm Lee: Yes! I'm made up Louis put this fine fellow through- he needed a break and it seems like he's finally got it. Original and cool, I think he'll divide opinion and I'm loving his whole 'look' and attitude.

John Adeleye: He's not made an impression on me yet, but he seems a nice enough guy. Good trilby collection at least, but he'll need to stand out a hell of a lot more on the live shows.

Boys: Mentored by Dannii Minogue
Aiden Grimshaw: No surprises here ladies, the heart throb with the unusual voice has made it through. He's eye candy, but to be fair he's got the goods to back it up- if he gets the teen girl vote, he'll be a finalist.

Matt Cardle: He's actually the favourite in this competition at the moment, but I'm just not excited about this guy. I'll wait till he gets his super swish makeover before I make judgment on whether he really does have The X Factor.

Nicolo Festa: A grower me thinks. He's arrogant, a diva and bloomin' good fun by all accounts. There's something very upfront about him which I like and he's got good vocals to back it up. I'm a fan, but I don't know if he'll be everyone's cup of tea.

So what do you think? Do you agree with the final 12?

The X Factor: Bootcamp Review

Has Rebecca Ferguson got The X Factor?! Copyright ITV

Wow Bootcamp was intense wasn't it?! I'm loving The X Factor at the moment with all the drama and the return of Brian Friedman to our screens!

Despite looking beyond weird in a ill-fitting combat jumpsuit with a massive hood, he was fun to watch, much like Louis who was on fine form in tight jeans, complete with retro quiff for all of Bootcamp.

Nah, I can't really be mean about Louis- I do feel for him getting the Over 28's this year. Give the poor guy a break- he always gets the Jedward's and never the Leona's!

The Cheryl and Dannii groups were a joke as well, both have had them before- why not shake it up and give Chezza the groups and Dannii the girls?

Anyway, enough about the judges let's move onto my stand out contestants who have made it through to the final 32.

Girls
Rebecca Ferguson- Aww I love Rebecca, this gal is bringing glamour back to The X Factor with her false eyelashes and elegant dresses. An amazing voice and personality to go with it- she's one of my favourites in this show.

Katie Waissel- I'm not sure about Katie, I think she may be a grower. She looks like she's trying too hard at times and her sense of style is a bit all over the place. There's quirky love and then there's looking like you've escaped from the funny farm. My money is on her making it through to the live shows though...

Cher Lloyd- Not her best performance on the night in my eyes but her swagga style continues to win me over. Military jackets, cargo pants, wedge boots and beehived hair make her stand out from the crowd- a shoo in for the live shows.

Gamu Nhengu- My absolute favourite. Her rendition of Make You Feel My Love was stunning- it reduced poor Louis to tears! She's so cute with her style choices and I love her signature flower in the hair. If she doesn't make it through, I will stage a protest!

Groups
Husstle- I totally feel like I've gone back in time to the Hear'say Popstars days when I look at these girls, but there's also something a bit current about them too- say a British version of the Pussycat Dolls? They're one of the best groups in the comp though, so they get a big thumbs up.

Princes & Rogues- Erm, I dunno what to say really. Geek chic has been done boys, but who knows they may just surprise me.

Over 28's
Storm Lee- What a Legend is all I can say- his Bootcamp audition was amazing. I remember thinking he was average in the auditions, but liked him as a person; how wrong I was. He's unique, quirky and I'm loving the trilby collection he keeps wheeling out at each stage of the comp. Brilliant.

Mary Byrne- I like this lady a lot, she's got a cracking voice and a bubbly personality to match. Fashion wise? Nope, she aint going to set the world alight, but I think she has a chance of making it to the live shows.

Stephen Hunter- I just want to give this man a hug, he's a little sweetie but can you see him winning this comp? Nope... me neither.

Boys
Paije Richardson- What a travesty that this fine young fellow nearly didn't make it past the audition stage! His amazing hat complete with feather should be reason enough to put him through.

Aiden Grimshaw- He makes very strange faces when he sings, but undoubtedly the guy has stage presence. I'm not keen on his geeky glasses though, someone should have informed him that they only look good on Topman models. And even then...
