Countdown to NYC Fashion Week begins!
The next month will be a blur. A fashionable, crazy coloured blur as New York, London, Milan and Paris unveil their visions for SS14, just as we close the door on SS13.
It's confusing looking at Spring fashion in Autumn I grant you, but the thrill of getting ahead of the game and knowing what will be in style near enough nine months before anyone else, more than makes up for it.
New York Fashion Week kicks off on 5th September finishing on the 12th before handing the baton to London.
I'll be making sure I have a front row seat (at my laptop of course!) for the Marc Jacobs, Michael Kors, Badgley Mischka, Zac Posen and Betsey Johnson shows this season for sure!
Highly exciting stuff I'm sure you'll agree. Keep an eye out for my runway reports as they unfold, but until then sit back, relax and enjoy the build up. I know I will :-)

Prodigy Red's Amazing New Celeb Looks!
It's nearly the weekend, payday is round the corner and Prodigy Red have just revealed a whole host of celeb looks we can now get on a shoestring budget!
Here's my fave trends to work this SS11...

Playful Denim: Alexis Jordan looks great in her dungarees and now you can too with this great high-street version for under £20. I'd stay clear of tights and just pair with a simple t-shirt, brogues and a boyfriend cardie for when it gets chilly!

Rock: Liv Tyler is one of my fave style icons, so to see her rocking this amazing t-shirt dress doesn't exactly surprise me. PR's copy look, however does; from the tiger print to the fit of the dress, this is well worth picking up for £9.99.

Ditzy Florals: She's been off the style radar for a while, so it's good to see Duffy back to her best in this cute frock. I like that PR has adapted the style and print to a 'flirtier' dress- this will look amazing teamed with some retro ballet pumps, skinny belt and nude blazer. For only £19.99, I'll take two!

Spring Stripes: Marc Jacobs never gets it wrong, so Prodigy Red have done well to get such a great copycat look for only £12.99! style with some cork wedges and a pair of massive retro sunnies to chanel this trend for summer.

Kate Moss smokes on Louis Vuitton runway...
...quite literally as well. The legendary supermodel lit up on the Louis Vuitton catwalk and blew smoke dramatically into the crowd.
Kate Moss was the perfect showgirl in many ways for Marc Jacobs fetish themed show, which included lace up boots, stockings and corsets.
In my opinion it may have topped Chanel in terms of beautifully executed clothing on a catwalk- and that in large is down to Jacobs brilliance.
Every season he just gets it so right. In fact he's the main reason why I love Paris Fashion Week so much.
Ok so I should be backing London, but Paris is just so amazing it totally eclipses everything else that's been before it in my view.
New York is uber cool, London is edgy, Milan is polished and Paris is just pure class all the way.
Clearly this is something Jacobs realises as he also splashed out on high profile supermodels Naomi Campbell, Amber Valetta, Carolyn Murphy and Maria Carla for the show.

Lady Gaga Channels Lady Liberty!

I am loving this new look for Lady Gaga! Not only does she look semi-normal, but it's such a brilliant concept, I have no idea why no-one's thought to do it sooner.
In the pics, shot for V Magazine by legend, Mario Testino, my fave Lady is seen parading around in her undies and with hair modelled to look like Liberty's infamous crown. Genius.
She's also seen being pushed around in a trolley by Marc Jacobs in one shot, with a makeshift torch and very very high shoes.
I suspect these may be the very same shoes which saw Gaga take an embarrassing tumble last month. Now it all makes perfect sense.

Marc Jacobs hearts the fuller figure

Well well, look who has jumped on the plus sized bandwagon! The ever lovely Marc Jacobs is creating a line for fuller figured females. Hurray!
A name like his carries clout in the fashion industry, so if he’s taking a gamble people will sit up and listen.
That’s not to say that the fashion industry isn’t already aware of little dents in its perfect size zero world. Why, Mark Fast put size 14 models on his runway earlier this year, while Chanel used Crystal Renn for their Resort collection.
Clearly perceptions are changing, or at least trying to be changed by those who want to make clothes for real women.
Look at the likes of Mad Men’s Christina Hendricks- she is majorly hot property at the moment with her curvy figure being the envy of women everywhere.
Then there’s Beyonce, J-Lo and Scarlett Johansson who have never been shy about their womanly figures. Clearly there is a market out there, but lets be honest who looks like any of these ladies in real life?!
I’m all for Marc Jacobs giving this a go- his collection for Louis Vuitton this year was all about voluptuous shapes to celebrate woman and their curves.
And Prada followed suit with 50s style skirts and sleeveless dresses, which made you stop and think- “Hey, I could wear that!" Well, you could if you had a spare £2000…
Anyway, I digress- what do you think- Will this work, or become another failed fashion revolution?
