Geri and Connie have The X Factor

Ok, so I haven’t officially ‘seen’ this yet to comment on, but hey this is big fashion news, so to hell with it!

I’m surprised by both of these choices really, but more so with the appointment of Geri ,considering her pretty awful stint on Popstars: The Rivals a few years ago.

Even more awkward/odd (delete as appropriate) is that she’ll be sitting next to Cheryl, who was being put through her paces by the former Spice Girl, only a few years ago to win a place in Girls Aloud.

I’ve heard it’s only a guest stint, but personally I feel like I’m having déjà vu, especially with Geri’s new hairstyle looking eerily similar to the one she sported on Popstars as well.

I would have much preferred Mel B, but hey- there is a long summer of auditions ahead and with Danni away, I think a range of guest judges will prove popular with the viewers.

As for Connie, I think this is a risk but one which will pay off in the long run. She’s got Holly’s warmth and has plenty of experience dealing with crying children from her Blue Peter days!

I’m just hoping she pulls out all the fashion stops, ala Cheryl to become the latest style icon to emerge from the show- who said it was all about the singing!?
