Big Fat Gypsy Weddings: Best show ever?!

Big Fat Gypsy Weddings: Copyright Channel 4

I am loving Channel 4 at the minute. Hollyoaks, Mary Portas and Jamie Oliver all in one place makes me a very happy bunny indeed.

However, they totally surpassed my expectations last night, with what was arguably the best show ever created- Big Fat Gypsy Weddings.

OMG it was compulsive viewing from start to finish and I am gutted I missed the one off show last year, because I feel somewhat behind the times!

Thankfully, I think I've got the jist- gypsy girls know what they want from a very young age and despite the very revealing clothes they wear, they're actually very old fashioned, traditional and have the morals of a saint...

Ok, maybe not a saint, but it's hard not to like them. The enormous wedding and Communion dresses that they wear alone make them very interesting to watch.

17-year-old Josie's was a douzy- weighing five stone and slit up the front, it wasn't exactly elegant or classy, but she was certainly the centre of attention!

Same with eight-year-old Margarita, whose holy Communion dress weighed twice her own body weight and was covered with 5,000 crystals.

Despite taking Communion with all the other school children, her 'princess' dress certainly stood out- I think the other giggling girls were merely jealous that their parents hadn't gone all out.

Madness, but utterly compelling- this is a show which will divide a lot of people.

Personally with a wedding coming up myself, I'll be tuning in purely for inspirational purposes... then again, I'm not sure I could quite pull off seven yards of puffball!

The Inbetweeners Fashion Watch: Simon's Hat

Simon's Hat has won me over! Copyright E4

There were many funny incidents on last night's Inbetweeners, more so than last week even, but for me the whole episode could not of survived without the appearance of Simon's trilby hat.

Trying to bag a new girlfriend, Simon thought that channelling Pete Doherty would be a good idea and make him cool.

But as usual, I thought Will had it spot on with his summarisation: "It was the night of Simon's date with Tara and to mark the occasion he dressed like a dick". Lol

I loved his dad's take on it too- "what's that on your head Simon?"- almost as much as Simon's sarcastic response: "Oh yeah, it's a hat! Obviously...god!"

His reactions to whenever his parents probe him are absolutely hilarious. He overreacts in a way a small child would and is more moody, in my opinion, than any teenage girl.

Onto actual events and this was the night our boys experienced pot for the first time.

For Will it meant erratic arm movements, for Jay it meant paranoia, for Neil, well he just fell asleep and in Simon's case, he made tiger noises and snogged a girl who had just been sick on his shoe.

Ahh, yes the sick girl as she will now be known. Tara, played by Hannah Tointon is a very welcome addition to the cast, and someone who actually likes Simon, so hopefully his stalking days are well over. Carli who?!

Eagle eyed viewers will recognise Hannah from her ill-fated Hollyoaks stint, you know where she played Warren's very annoying sister?

Yes, she much better suited here playing a grubby rock chick. Roll on next week when our Romeos score a double date. I Literally can't wait...
