One has to be both posh and stylish to qualify for entrance to this exclusive event, so naturally this will encourage people to go OTT in the vain hope of getting some press coverage.
So.. congratulations to Roxanne Pallet of Emmerdale fame, who was allegedly turned away from the Royal enclosure because her dress was too short!
In addition to this she was also sporting Miss Selfridge bunny ears, which would have been more suitable on a hen night rather than this kind of event- although I confess, they were pretty cool!
To save face Roxy then changed into a knee-length one shouldered cream number, complete with a cute little fascinator and was in favour once again.
I must give a special mention to Simon Cowell's ex, Jackie St Clair for her giant poppy hat, which just dwarfed everyone she stood next to and looked fab against her elegant navy dress.
Although the celebs put in a pretty good effort, it was the nobodies who really shone in balloon hats, peacock feathers and my personal favourite- a massive box of chocolates fashioned as a giant fascinator. Brilliantly bonkers; roll on next year!
