Welcome to What Serena Saw...
A satirical, sassy and frank review of all the fashion on TV, film and online, as commented on whenever something catches my eye!
Here's a quick rundown of my fashion watch this weekend...
Eurovision- Predictably we came last once again, but can we just take a moment to look at the OTT gowns on display from the hosts in Oslo?! If we ever did win, I just can't imagine the likes of Fearne Cotton (if they decided to give it a bit of street cred) or Kate Thornton (if they wanted an ex-X Factor style angle) ever being able to match them in the billowing frock front, which thankfully is one thing that's in our favour.
Britain's Got Talent- Forget the singing granny and cute kids- how gorgeous was Amanda's dress on Saturday night? I've not been a massive fan of her fashion choices so far for the auditions this year, but this one shoulder optical wonder may have rescued it for me. With BGT going live this week, stay tuned for more Amanda watch...
Doctor Who- Amy's skirts are getting shorter and she's becoming more bearable with it. Gutted about Rory, but loving the leather jacket and cowboy boots combo from the fiery redhead. Bring on next week!
SATC- Re-runs on Fiver last night was hilarious for 2 reasons- 1. It reminded me exactly how bad Carrie and co. looked in the earlier days and 2. It actually made me laugh out loud...like until I snorted. I'm almost considering not going to see the new movie because of this- do I really want to tarnish the memory of me chuckling along with a glass of vino in hand, greeting them like old friends, all for a movie which has been universally panned? Hmmm... I'll let you know later this week.
Spiderman- An odd choice for a Sunday night, but I found myself being sucked in to this movie all because of my scary infatuation with Kirsten Dunst. Not on a sinister level of course, but I've always loved her vintage style and she's on top form in this movie. Trench coats and Oriental dresses aplenty- loved it! Oh and you know, Tobey Maguire with his shirt off wasn't bad either :)
